COMMON TYPES: Common bed bug (Cimex lectularius)
APPEARANCE: Small, flat, oval-shaped insects with a reddish-brown colour
SIZE: Approximately 4–7 mm (about the size of an apple seed)
COLOUR: Light brown to reddish-brown, darker after feeding
NESTING AREAS: Mattresses, bed frames, furniture, baseboards, cracks, and crevices
ACTIVITY: Mostly active at night when people are sleeping
LIFECYCLE: Egg → nymph → adult
REPRODUCTION: Rapid; females can lay multiple eggs per day
PRIMARY RISKS: Bites, skin irritation, sleep disruption, rapid spread
